Julia Garcia-Medina

Tutor Coordinator

Julia Garcia-Medina received her B.S. in Environmental Chemistry with minors in Education and Sociology from UC San Diego in 2019. During her time at UCSD, Julia found immense support through Summer Bridge and the Math and Science Tutorial Program at OASIS. She then helped support students, like herself, as a tutor and student coordinator at MSTP. These roles greatly influenced her goals and passions, many of which are centered around student success. Upon graduation, Julia served as the STEM SC Coordinator at the CSU San Marcos campus. During her time there, Julia led a team of tutors and student assistants for 2.5 years; directly providing programming support in STEM workshops, Embedded Tutoring, and STEM career-focused panels. As an individual who identifies with the struggles that students from low socioeconomic backgrounds and underrepresented communities face, she is eager to provide services at the Academic Achievement Hub as the Tutor Coordinator with the hopes of fostering the success of these individuals and all UCSD students.
