Hi everyone! My name is Anna and I am a third-year student with extensive experience in the MMW series that I would love to share! I have backgrounds in all kinds of writing, from personal creative writing projects and journalistic endeavors to experience with research papers and argumentative essays. I enjoy learning about everybody's different passions and experiences, and would love to hear about what gets you motivated to write! 

I believe that collaborating with other thinkers helps us better understand alternate viewpoints while developing our own personal ideas, and would love to navigate the writing process with you. My goal is to foster an open space for creative thinking and expression, and am happy to work with you at any step of your writing process. I am also open to accommodating any support you may need, so let me know whether you prefer a quiet learning space, visual modifications, or would like any other adjustments!

I am a native English speaker with intermediate Spanish proficiency as well. Looking forward to working with you!

Hello! I am a 4th year in Marshall College studying Political Science - Public Policy and Chicanx/Latinx Studies. This is my third year as a Writing Consultant in the Teaching & Learning Commons, so I am very excited to continue working with students! I am interested in any subject of writing and am happy to help every student.

I’m Anu, and writing has always been one of my favorite ways to express myself. I first started writing in my diary, and over time it became a way for me to understand myself better and find my own voice. My favorite thing about writing is how much freedom it gives you—not only to express what you think, but sometimes to figure out what you think as you’re writing. Because of that, I really love helping other writers find confidence in their own ideas and develop a voice that feels like theirs.

Outside of writing, I love reading, going to the gym, spending time with friends and family, and hiking. I’d love to work with you at any stage of the writing process, from brainstorming to revising a full draft!

Hello! I’m Clio, a singing, dancing, and composting lover. In my life, writing has been a challenging and rewarding process—the two often go hand in hand. The act of thinking and reflection teaches us about who we are and allows for an understanding that who we are changes. In an age of AI, infinite scroll, and attention monetization, it is important to set aside time and space to think critically about the world, instead of letting the world think for us. I offer you the time and space to find your voice in a safe, calm, and supportive environment. Whatever topic you choose, our arms and legs will be inside the vehicle, and we can enjoy the rollercoaster together. After all, like many experiences, writing is better shared. 

Got a deadline, writer's block, MMW questions? No problem, I look forward to talking about it! Also, although I would not be able to help much with French grammar, I can speak French, and I love any excuse to practice. J'ai hâte de vous rencontrer/ I cannot wait to meet you.

Hello! My name is Destiney and I'm a fourth year Muir student double majoring in Communication and social psychology. As one can expect, a lot of my life revolves around engaging with different styles of writing; from rhetoric and journalism to research and public speaking. My senior year, I look forward to completing an Honors Thesis through the Communication Department and writing opinion articles for the UCSD Guardian. While I'd love to say writing is always sunshine and rainbows, I have to admit I've had my fair share of frustrations and learning curves with the subject. Being a writer means being a lifelong learner, and as a consultant my job is to be a support system in any way I can! 

I have ADHD, so I know first-hand how overwhelming it is to navigate college writing. Because of that, I am open to working with you and offering quiet spaces, visual aids, and other support you may need!

I primarily offer services in English, but I am able to understand Tagalog if needed!

Hello! My name is Harrison, a fourth-year Political Science student from Muir College. Entering my third year working at the Teaching & Learning Commons, I have extensive experience working with all types of work from all sorts of major and college writing courses. Having written for the Undergraduate Law Review and several research projects, I am very familiar with any sort of academic or argumentative work. 

No matter where you are in the writing process --from brainstorming to final edits-- I am always happy to help you along the way. Every person has their own experience with writing and if you want any particular accommodations please let me know and I will gladly adjust!

Hi there, I’m Karina! After completing MCWP and writing many humanities research papers, I’ve found that I’m always guided by the same core idea: “write for yourself.” This mindset has helped me break out of my initial fear of writing, and instead, I now view it as a creative way of expressing myself. As your writing consultant, my main goal is to help you “write for yourself” as well, which starts by developing your unique writing voice. I always aim to understand who you are as an individual; outside of your role as a student, what are your passions, interests, and experiences? These are some conversations I like to have when it comes to writing, especially in terms of personalizing your academic work. 

A little more about me: I have full proficiency in English and limited proficiency in Cantonese. In my free time, I love to doodle on my iPad, play cozy games on my Nintendo Switch, and explore new areas around San Diego (this will be my last year at UCSD, so I’m trying to see as much as I can!). If you ever feel stuck or lost with your writing, please don’t hesitate to visit me for help! Every session is a safe space to fully be yourself, and if you need certain accommodations (e.g. quiet learning spaces or text-only), I am more than happy to provide them. From brainstorming ideas to finalizing your draft, I’m here for you every step of the way.

Hi! My name is Kirin and I'm a second-year Political Science: International Relations and Classical Studies double major. As a Warren student, I have experience with the WCWP series, but love all kinds of writing, from research-based to argumentative to personal statements. I write creatively in my free time, and am involved in student journalism as part of the Prospect Journal of International Affairs here at UCSD.

Writing is one of the ways I best express myself, and I want to make writing enjoyable for you as well. Hesci! My name is Ryland, I am a third-year Seventh College student majoring in Literary Arts and minoring in Law & Society. I am familiar with the POLI 104 series, SYN, AWP, and Literature / Writing classes (LTWR, LTWL, etc.). I have experience with creative writing in various formats: poetry, digital poetics, short-fiction, and creative nonfiction. I have worked with several genres as well: ecopoetry, environmental literature, sci-fi, historical fiction, and fantasy. As a pre-law student, I also have experience in research, personal statements, cover letters, and legal writing: office memorandums, client advice letters, and demand letters. If you would like citation assistance or help with legal wording, let me know and I can bring my Bluebook!

I love being able to help writers see through their visions that they have for every piece, and so I'd love to help at any stage of the writing process! Writing can be a very meticulous and intimidating process, so I am here to help ease tension and be a resource for you to bounce ideas off of and provide feedback. My goal is to have every student fall in love with the process of writing in any form or genre!

As a neurodivergent student, I am willing to provide any accommodations you may need to be comfortable and support your growth as a writer! I am primarily fluent in English, but have experience in reading / writing Latin as well. Mvto, I look forward to working with you!
